Mondays delight

And, after the Full Moon Hash was reopened by Hare Kuty PI and the last Sunday run was hared by Mr. Pink and family, it was on up to the first Monday at the incomparable Grüß Di A Gott Wirt. More than 30 World's Worst Hashers found their way up and Gasthaus owner Stefan, as always, opened up his premises on his usual closing day, just for us. The motto of this run was to remember our dear and late friend Dodgy Condom (RIP).

Co-Hares Tickpleaser, MOM (schlepping Sekt uphill), Cardinal Munk OVH (ditto) and yours truly choose the easy way up the Hermannskogel (so you know by now that next year in April it will be the steep uphill way again).

There was some rain over the preceding two days, therefore some shiggy and lots of humidity. Up the hill it was Sekt and not one but rather two songs for the Songstop, As always, Tiny Bubbles by Don Ho and, to honour Dodgy Condom, we sang the Beatles Song With a Little help from my friends, as Dodgy Condom was a Liverpooler (Liverpudlian).

After the Sekt, it was Downhill with spectacular Hash View and eventually On to the circle. After the Song, Supper at the Gasthaus.

Here are the official Moron Pics for this run.

Something completely different!

Keep coming back

One of the bare necessities for the average Vindobona Hasher is the opening of the Monday evening run season at the venue for run #1 in Vienna (THE first ever Hash run here in 1982) up at the Grüß di A Gott Wirt all the way up between Cobenzl and Kahlenberg.

On the following day after the revered Freistadt weekend our local Hash tradition (invented somewhat 13 or 14 years ago) has it that Cardinal Munk, OVH and yours truly are setting that run up where the highest elevation point of Vienna is located. And add to this that it is really a very nice area.

Since Cardinal Munk, OVH had several medical issues but made it up to the Gasthaus nonetheless (no wimping out here!) it was left to yours truly to set the run and carry on up the bubbly Stuff known as Sekt and cups to the top pf the hill. Tradition has it that the the hill needs to be conquered either from the right or the left hand side. My CoHare had to be carried up near the hilltop by car (!) with little help from our always supergenerous host Stephan (owner of the Gasthaus OnIn).

The stage was all set and the Sekt was hidden somwhere nearby (as in every year)

The Songstop and Sektstop also has been featuring the same song for years now, naturally invented by the World's Worst and copied here in a public performance by a potential rising star, ahem ;-)

Be it one way or the other way around the Hermannskogel, the way from a certain point during the run is simply spectacular, look for yourselves:

While I was setting that run on coming down the hill a definite snowshower occured with lots of windgusts, after all it was stil only the end of April so not unsual.

Hello Goodbye

Tradition has it that THE (or on of the) first Monday evening runs has to be set up at the Grüß-Di-A-Gott Wirt, well known venue of run # 1 in 1982. Again I was unable to attend but from what I heard from different sources rhymes not with C*** but rather with the following:
Start punctually at 18:30, do not wait for the latecomers but leave a little extra flower on the track, and, us usual, the only way is all the way up to the Habsburgerwarte.
Leave a few not so fast ones behind and meet them again on bottom of the hill (on the other side of course) and then avanti avanti back to the Carpark. Enjoy a few drinks, have a birthday celebrity present (Mr. Soul Survivor of Run # 1 in 1982)

and finish all this off with an extended meal at the Gasthaus.

On On to the Wolf, our friend from Frankfurt who passed away a week ago.

and - bien sur - the local equivalent being led by Mr. You Know Who:
