March 15. What can be said about Schweizerhaus opening day that hasn't been mentioned before? The same old crowd of the same old boozers - dare I say drunks - assembled at the usual time at the usual table. Usual business included a TV Camera filming our table and yes, we did make the local evening news, a few pics will be added shortly. Marathon Man came by from Cairo just for the occasion, Sex-O-Phone arrived at lunchtime and before long Alice, Lady Go Diver and (a little later) the Moron Brothers joined in. Yes we uphold our traditions and no we're not cheap. And yes we do still raise a glass or two to Minuteman, a true Schweizerhaus goer.
To follow up on the movie trailer from the last entry, here is the FZ sequence that refers to that film.
On Out.

Who spiked the eggnog?
A mere five weeks away from the famed opening of the Schweizerhaus. I am happy to report that everything is going its most useful way. The ice skating spectacle on Rathausplatz is in full swing, the beer prace remained stable more or less with 3,40 for a pint and the remainders of a very stubborn bronchitis are starting to disappear.
The last couple in the Winter were strenuous (Jan. 24, Hares MOM and My Sisters Glowing Cee U Next Tuesday) up on the Sofienalpe. I must have been fortunate enough that my lingering cold made me stay home rather then getting caught all the way downhill from Sofienalpe on the Höhenstrasse and then taking the bus back up on top.
Sunday last week (Hares My Pint and Joystick) was a "boring running track that I always use" (quote first Hare) with lots of Snow, Ice and Wind on around the Rudolfshöhe out in the 14th district, and I still try to remember why MOM got thrown out of the Supermarket he always goes to. If I remember to ask him next time, you will read that here first.
In the meantime, curtain up for another timeless classic from Frank Zappa:

Would you like a snack?
Just got back from the dentist and I can't think of a more suitable occasion to post a really defining moment for my musical upbringing here (Warning, might be downright crazy and weird to some):
I first listened to Frank Zappa's 200 Motels in 1982, long before I had seen the movie and frankly, back then I didn't have much a clue of what this was all about. After all this time the music and the film are still intriguing. Just like JS Bach. Or Miles Davis. What I am trying to say is that an eclectic taste of music is certainly most helpful for a better understanding of Life, the Universe and Everything.
